While there have been some changes, for more than a decade, the parade and festival has run much the same way.
The parade steps off at 11 am on Saturday and typically consists of eighty to one hundred and twenty units including marching bands, bagpipers, dignitaries, local organizations, floats and more. It starts at the intersection of Pier and Valley drive, marches west to Hermosa Avenue where it turns South on Hermosa, disbanding at 8th street.
The festival runs Saturday and Sunday. It opens on Saturday after the parade (though vendors are set up before the parade begins).
A stage featuring Irish music and step-dancing, and Irish and other vendors line Pier Plaza. In addition a kiddy carnival, petting zoo, food court are located just off the parade route
